RAPTURE FOR DEEP ECOLOGY IN E FLAT MAJOR

Con fuoco

            I

Who would imagine the earth's extinction
Singing embarrassed tempo rubato,
Marriage celestial descending the skies,
Inflamed with orchestrations.
By sovereign decree the question is rhetorical.
We cast down our temporal robes
And sow our sterile scepters in disdain.
While exacerbation, by the stones of fire,
Burns the stairs of judgment.

            II

Pressured by the sleeping wakes of that eternal knowledge,
Which thrones in solemn majesty could not again endure,
The censer was destroyed, the end of all prayers made.
Steaming, shackled chaos disperses saint's redeemed and holy tears.
The skies take a lien on the days of these kings:
Van Allen belts rain eschatological things.

            III

Rise up, mercenaries, minorities, mendicants!
Rock the universal Watchers with their wings of terror bright!
Hear them!  Quintaton.  Montre.  Flute conique.  Prestant. Gemshorn.
The Positif resounds; the Principal etroit reverberates emerald green.
Bourdon!  Trompette!  Hautbois!  Larigot!  Cymbale!  Cornet!

Lightspeed rainbows hyperdrive molto agitato.
Encirclement for contrabasse foundations.

Where has all the ozone gone?
It's gone to make Ezekiel's wheels.
