To the Prophets of Nanotechnology

Galileo saw the sunrise
in the mountains of the moon:
he metamorphosed landscapes of
discovery and freed the
mind to climb distant
                            heights.

Daniel, too, saw the sun rise,
loom before him like
manna in the desert,

     white
as cloud, soft as mushroom,
weighed in the balances,
found wanting.

The atom is
divided
and stretched between
the Medes
and the Persians

and should be played in Tempo Rubato
